Our New Family Addition

Friday, November 30th, 2007

Christmas is coming a little early this year!  My husband and I absolutely adore little dogs (except oversized rats chihuahuas – not a big fans).  So for Christmas this year, we purchased a brand new darling puppy!  He is a shorkie…a shih tzu/yorkie mix.  He is only about six weeks right now, so it will be a few more weeks until we pick him up.

My poor husband, he didn’t really know what he was in for when we decided to get a dog.  Well…after seeing the credit card bill, he does now!  I’ve already picked up tons of adorable yorkie dog clothes, a plush puppy bed, and a gorgeous leather dog carrier purse.  I just tell him not to worry…we’ll have the best dressed pup on the block!

Here are a few pictures of our little guy…we have yet to pick out a name…any suggestions??

Big Dreams Aren’t Always Enough…

Thursday, November 8th, 2007

…to make it in the world of Hollywood. Find out how you can…

When most Hollywood hopefuls move out to California with big dreams and ample ambition, they do not realize just how difficult it can be to break into the business. Many have little to no professional contacts involved in the industry so they have to begin at square one: endless auditions, competing with thousands of other individuals with the same goals and dreams.

What many of these young people do not know is that are there are a number of organizations that provide A-list acting internships which provides a much better chance of succeeding in such a difficult and fickle industry. Students are paired with a professional in the business, whether it be a director, producer, or casting director. Such internships (sometimes referred to as mentorships) can provide valuable work experience on an actual set and help the student to start making contacts within the business.

In show biz, it is all about contacts; who you know, rather than what you know. An internship gives you crucial exposure to Hollywood.

Disclaimer: While I personally have not completed an acting internship, I have done extensive research online and found numerous positive reviews and information about acting internships and similar programs…including this guy, who seems to be just as impressed as I am!

Charli’s Holiday Must-Haves

Tuesday, November 6th, 2007

Glamorous and high-priced certainly do not have to go hand-in-hand. You can keep up with all the latest styles and fashion trends without breaking the bank. Here are my favorite (inexpensive) items for the upcoming holiday season!

Sparkling JewelryBanana Republic is one of my favorite places to pick up chic yet modern jewelry that is perfect for the office and a night on the town. They have absolutely gorgeous pieces, most for under 50 bucks!

Dog Carrier Purse - Channel your inner celebrity and pick up one of fall’s hottest accessories…the dog purse. Perfect for your little furry friend, the purses are replete with shiny buckles, patent leather, and silver chains without the designer price tag!

Riding Boots - The fall fave is back and as hot as ever, especially paired with leggings or skinny jeans. My pick? Steve Madden’s Brown Riding boots…an inexpensive option at only $140.

Polished Nails - Nothing is more refined, sophisticated, or sexy than well-kept nails. Try a DIY manicure…it will not only save you time, but money. Keep nails trimmed, filed, and short especially if you wear dark polish. Colors to try: O.P.I.’s Midnight in Moscow and Vodka & Caviar.

Pea Coat - The pea coat is a wardrobe staple. They look great at any length and with anything…wear with a flattering pencil skirt or dark jeans. Victoria’s Secret has some of the cutest (and inexpensive) pea coats I have ever seen!

My Best Friend

Tuesday, November 6th, 2007

I absolutely adore my little dog, Corky. Even though my boyfriend makes fun of me, I spoil him all the time. He gets so excited whenever I play with him and give him treats, and he always gives me kisses back to show his gratitude. How many people do that every time you do something for them?

I hate leaving him alone all day when I’m at work, at the gym, or out shopping. Luckily, while I was shopping the other day I found a dog carrier purse so that I could tote him along. He loves coming with me, whether it’s to the mall or to some other event with my boyfriend. If anyone else is as motherly and obsessed as I am about their little dog, I think you should get one too!
